Vice President, Risk Management

Mr. Cook brings more than 13 years of administrative healthcare experience to DCHS. As Vice President of Risk Management, Mr. Cook is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the risk management program, including the procurement and maintenance of insurance coverage, professional liability, workers' compensation loss prevention programs, and claims management.

Prior to joining DCHS, Mr. Cook worked for nearly eight years in the risk management department of Ascension Health in St. Louis, Missouri, where he served as Director of Loss Prevention & Program Services. His previous experience included administrative positions with the Allegheny Health System in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the Parkview Health System in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Mr. Cook received a Masters degree in Hospital Administration from Xavier University and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. He is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management and is a Diplomat of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
